Parish Evangelization and Faith Formation

Mission Statement

The Office of Parish Evangelization and Faith Formation seeks to fulfill the command of Jesus Christ to “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matt: 28:18-20). In accordance with the Strategic Plan of the Diocese of Orange, we do this by promoting a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, the worthy celebration of the Sacraments, and on-going participation in Catholic faith formation. This office also provides resources and tools for parishes, assesses needs, and facilitates networking for parishes staff members supporting faith formation ministries serving children as well as adults.

Ministry certification equips the baptized to fulfill the call of God on their life in a role of service to the community. Lumen Christi offers certifications in various ministries such as catechesis (for volunteers and Catholic school teachers).
